Why This Trade Would Benefit The New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans have one of the most exciting players in the NBA in Zion Williamson. He has been a force since he has been healthy in the league. This is not going to change and he will not be going anywhere anytime soon. This means the Pelicans need to put some pieces around him in order to compete right away.
This is where Lauri Markkanen could come into play. He is another player who has struggled with injuries over the course of his career but is as dynamic as they come when on the floor. Markkanen would solidify the frontcourt for the Pelicans and give them a bit of a big three.
New Orleans sent Jrue Holiday to the Milwaukee Bucks in the offseason. They are interested in making some changes and this is where a trade for Lonzo Ball would make sense. Names like JJ Redick and Eric Bledsoe could also be on the move prior to the deadline.
The Western Conference is only getting better and the Pelicans are not a playoff team at the moment. They can become one if they push the right buttons and get some big returns for their players.
