Why This Trade Would Benefit The Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers signed Montrezl Harrell in free agency away from their crosstown rival. They have many pieces in the frontcourt, led by Anthony Davis. If there is any place the Lakers are below average, it is on the perimeter. This is where Devonte’ Graham would help out immediately.

It’s safe to say, Devonte’ Graham is a capable three-point shooter and is used to playing with other stars — making him an intriguing potential complement alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Dennis Schroder has started every game for the Lakers this season is playing well but having more of a spot-up threat in the lineup like Devonte’ Graham could generate even better results. Los Angeles could benefit from having Schroder make plays as the leader of the bench group, even if Schroder isn’t a fan of that role.

The two would be able to play together giving both players’ ability to be off the ball. LeBron James currently leads the Lakers in assists with 7.5 per game. This deal would give the Lakers some more fire power from three-point range and getting to the basket.

The Lakers do not need any other pieces to win their second straight championship. They are a team that is built well and has an elite duo leading the way. However, it doesn’t hurt to add a better fitting piece at the NBA trade deadline to improve in a few key areas.
