Norman Powell
Norman Powell is the guy not talked about enough on the Raptors and could have a huge impact on the Pistons now and in the future. The 27-year old guard is now in his sixth season in the NBA and after a breakout season last year, a lot of expectations were placed on Powell this year.
This season, Toronto has used Norman Powell as their sixth-man off-the-bench and while he got off to a slow start early on in the year, he has been fantastic in the month of January. This month, Powell is averaging 15.9 points and is shooting 43% from three-point range in just under 27 minutes per game.
Not to mention, Powell has scored 10+ points in all but three games in January and has scored 20+ points in four consecutive contests. With the Raptors struggling to find success this year and with Powell playing the way he is, his value is at an all-time high and Toronto could look to trade him as a result.
The 6’3” guard would be a perfect addition to pair with Zach LaVine, even though they play the same position. Powell could join the Bulls and be their sixth-man off-the-bench, giving them one of the better scoring benches in the league.
They already have guys like Garrett Temple, Otto Porter Jr. and Thad Young contributing big minutes off-the-bench, but adding a guy like Norman Powell could really elevate their second-unit. Not to mention, he could even start alongside LaVine on the wing given his versatility and ability to defend bigger guards and wings.
Given his athleticism and scoring abilities, Norman Powell is definitely a guy to keep an eye on if you are a Bulls fan. Bringing him to Chicago could be tough, as they would likely have to trade some draft assets and a younger prospect, but trading for Powell definitely elevates this Bulls overall roster and gives them another weapon besides Zach LaVine to finally finish off their rebuild process.
