Why This Trade Would Benefit The Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks close to playoff berth last year but were eliminated in six games by the Los Angeles Clippers. They simply did not have enough firepower to keep up in the Western Conference is only getting better. This is a team that could look to add more fire power moving forward.

Mark Cuban is an owner that likes to make the big move. Making a trade for a star to team up with Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis would be that move. Russell would fit into the offense because of his ability to play fast and shoot for deep.

Russell would be able to handle the ball and allow Luka Doncic to play off at times. Additionally, the Mavericks would be able to stagger the playing time of Doncic and Russell to have a dynamic playmaker and shot creator on the floor at all times. This fit seems perfect if the Timberwolves are willing to do it.

The Mavericks will have to make a move or two at the NBA trade deadline if they want to compete right away. They are a team with playoff aspirations and will have to kick it up a notch if they want to get there.
