Why This Trade Would Benefit The New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans are a team that could be looking to make plenty of changes. They are not a playoff team at the moment in a difficult Western Conference and they are looking to change that over the next couple years. They have their core in place and Ball does not seem to be a part of it.
If he is not part of the future, it would benefit New Orleans to trade Ball for a return. The front office made it clear that they are not good just going to trade Ball for anything but there should be some teams out there that are interested.
Oubre Jr. would fit in because he would not have to be one of the main scoring options in New Orleans. The team will also get a first-round pick which is extremely beneficial to a rebuilding squad.
Williamson and Ingram are too entertaining to not be in the postseason. The Pelicans’ front office has to do whatever it takes to get this duo playing meaningful games late in the year soon.
