Why This Trade Would Benefit The New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans have shown an interest in cleaning house moving forward. Jrue Holiday is gone and JJ Redick could be on his way out prior to the NBA trade deadline as well. Lonzo Ball is a new name that has surfaced and it makes all the sense in the world.
This Pelicans team is all about building around Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram. Williamson is in his second year in the league while Ingram signed a long term extension to remain in New Orleans.
Right now, the Pelicans are looking for that point guard to take their lineup to the next level. White could be just that player. He has shown an ability to dominate on both ends of the floor and that is something that should interest Billy Donovan and the Bulls.
If they are truly interested in trading Lonzo Ball, getting a player back like Coby White would be extremely beneficial. The Pelicans have the assets to rebuild quickly and this would be one step forward for them.
