Why This Trade Would Benefit The Boston Celtics
Jeff Teague has not made much of an impact during his time with the Boston Celtics. This season, Teague has played in 12 games and averaged 6.8 points in 19.2 minutes a night. With Kemba Walker healthy, he is the clear-cut starter and Teague has been coming off the bench.
If the Celtics can get some more assets for their backup point guard, then this is a beneficial deal. One of the assets would be another backup point guard. Beverley is a bulldog on the defensive end. He would fit in a backup role for Boston right away.
Patrick Beverley is a player you want to have on your side come postseason time and to have him behind Walker makes it even better. The Celtics would also add some more depth down low with Patterson. This is a low-risk move for Boston because of what they would have to give up.
This is a deal that would help both sides right away. There are different benefits for each side as they head towards what they hope will be a long run in the NBA postseason.
