This Celtics-Clippers trade reunites Jeff Teague and Paul George

Why This Trade Would Benefit The Los Angeles Clippers

The point guard position was clearly one that cost the Los Angeles Clippers during the postseason last year. This season is no different. Los Angeles is being led by their all-world players but has a clear need at the top of the offense. Patrick Beverley has made 15 starts this season but would be a better option coming off the bench for a team.

Jeff Teague is an intriguing option moving forward. He is a veteran point guard with experience starting in the backcourt for postseason teams. In Boston, Teague has not had much of a chance to show what he can do. That would change in Los Angeles. He would also get the chance to play with someone who he knows well.

This fit seems like a good one for Los Angeles as they look to compete for the rest of the season and deep into the playoffs. A point guard that can help run the offense would reduce pressure on Paul George and Kawhi Leonard to have to make too many plays.

This trade would not cost much either and it could be worth it right away. If Los Angeles makes a move at the NBA trade deadline, it will most likely be for some help at the point guard position.
