The Indiana Pacers have a nice team at the moment but nothing to get excited about. They were swept out of the first round last year and seem like a lower level playoff team once again. With Victor Oladipo finally gone, Indiana could be looking for a new face of the franchise.
Domantas Sabonis has taken the next step as a player in the NBA. He can do it all offensively and is a strong piece moving forward. When looking at Indiana’s roster, they have some strong players but are in need of that star name.
Simmons could be the player who would benefit from a change of scenery and take over Indiana. Right now, Simmons is taking a backseat to Embiid in Philadelphia. In Indiana, he could be the clear-cut leader and number one offensive weapon.
It is impossible to win in the NBA without stars. Indiana has a nice group of players but needs that super star to help take them to the next level. Simmons could be just that in a trade such as this one.
