Why This Trade Would Benefit The New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans have played around with the idea of trading Lonzo Ball over the last few days. He is a nice piece but not at the level of Brandon Ingram or Zion Williamson. If they would be able to pair a veteran player like Redick in a deal, Ball could be on his way out.

Kendrick Nunn is a proven commodity in just his second season. He burst onto the same as one of the best rookies in the game last season. He is continuing his strong play over the early part of this year. He would be a nice complementary piece on the perimeter for New Orleans.

The addition of Andre Igoudala and Kelly Olynyk will not handcuff New Orleans because of their contract situations. They have shown interest in trading veterans and that is what they would be doing in this deal.

The Pelicans are a team that will be relevant because of the presence of Zion Williamson. It would benefit the team greatly to get him into the postseason and see what could happen. That could happen quickly if they make the right deals moving forward.
