Why This Trade Would Benefit The Brooklyn Nets
There’s a lot of anticipation and excitement for the Brooklyn Nets’ new superstar trio. That’s obviously for good reason since James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant are all incredible offensive talents. In fact, no team in the NBA stacks up to that.
Overall, there isn’t a need to have three incredibly high usage shot creators. Of course, it’s good to have as much dynamic talent as possible. However, Simmons would provide more balance than Irving while elevating the Nets in needed ways.
There would also be the possibility of the Nets using Simmons as a ball screener and short-roll playmaker since it’s inevitable that James Harden and Kevin Durant will get doubled. This would be similar to the pivotal role Draymond Green plays alongside Steph Curry with the Golden State Warriors.
The Nets would have the option of going small with Ben Simmons at the center position with Kevin Durant alongside him in the frontcourt. Brooklyn would be able to switch everything at a high-level, run teams off the court, and get into the lane with ease.
