Los Angeles Clippers Receive: F Thaddeus Young
Chicago Bulls Receive: G Patrick Beverely, F Terance Mann
If the Chicago Bulls want to win now, bringing in an established veteran guard like Patrick Beverley could prove to be very beneficial for them. Beverley is one of the better defensive guards in the entire NBA and has been an impactful player on both ends of the court in the last few seasons.
Over the course of his career, Beverley has averaged 8.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.2 steals and has shot 38.2% from three-point range. With the Bulls already having Coby White as their point guard of the future, they could utilize Beverley as a “change of pace” type point guard off-the-bench that can be relied upon because of his defensive-playstyle.
Thaddeus Young is now 32-years old and in his 14th season in the NBA, but has always been known as a legit low-post threat and aggressive rebounder. This is exactly the type of player the Clippers could use off their bench, especially since Harrell is no longer with the team. He would form a truly impressive defensive combination alongside Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and Serge Ibaka.
Terance Mann is also an interesting player involved in this trade. Mann is in his second season in the NBA and while he had not had a major role with the Clippers, he showcased his abilities in the G-League last season, where he averaged 15.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 5.7 assists and shot 53.2% from the floor in 20 games.
The Bulls could definitely utilize another young, versatile talent on the wing, which is why he could be a beneficial piece to this trade. Overall this trade has a few benefits for either side, even though it seems a little lopsided for the Chicago Bulls.
Let’s take a closer look as to why this trade makes sense for both the Los Angeles Clippers and Chicago Bulls.
