Kelly Olynyk
One player the Washington Wizards could go after is Kelly Olynyk. Olynyk, 29, is very quietly having a great season with the Miami Heat, and his playstyle would fit hand in hand with Thomas Bryant’s when he returns next season.
Olynyk is averaging 11.6 points per game, 5.4 rebounds per game, and 2.1 assists per game for the Heat this season off the bench. Olynyk compliments Bam Adebayo very well in Miami and his ability to shoot the three ball helps his case as one of the best backup centers in the NBA.
If the Wizards offered up a few picks for him, Kelly Olynyk could be in a Wizards uniform next week. Adding a guy like Olynyk to a needy team could do wonders, especially if you snag him while you can.
There would still be the same defensive concerns by trading for Kelly Olynyk but he’d at least provide the stretch-big presence that Thomas Bryant offered. There certainly would be better options if the Wizards sought more of a rim protector.
