Why This Trade Would Benefit The New York Knicks
The New York Knicks have a decision to make moving forward with Julius Randle. He signed a three-year deal last offseason and has been nothing but productive since coming to New York. He is taking it to another level here in 2020-21 so far. So the decision is whether to extend Randle or send him away during this start.
If they go with the first option, they could offer him an extension since Randle is just 26-years old. There is still sometime. If they choose the latter, New York could take advantage of the hot start and send him to Los Angeles.
Morris was the Knicks’ leading scorer last season when they traded him for a draft pick. Immanuel Quickley has looked like the real deal thus far and could turn into a big-time player. It would benefit the rookie to have a savvy veteran such as Patrick Beverley on the team to serve as a mentor.
Dare we say the Knicks are going in the right direction? It only took about eight years. Thibodeau is the perfect coach to right the ship and now the front office will have to make the correct basketball decisions.
