Why This Trade Would Benefit The Los Angeles Clippers
The Los Angeles Clippers took a big hit when Montrezl Harrell decided to head across town and join the Lakers. They were able to make it up a bit when they signed Serge Ibaka away from the Toronto Raptors. He is off to a well-rounded start averaging 11.8 points, and 6.1 rebounds per game. They could still use another piece down low.
The Lakers made a big move to add Harrell to a frontcourt that already included Anthony Davis. They are going to be tough to beat once again this season. The Clippers are extremely tough on the perimeter with George and Leonard, both averaging better than 23 points per game.
They could use that second piece in the frontcourt to assert dominance. Julius Randle could be that player. He has improved on both ends of the floor, especially defensively.
If Los Angeles wants to continue to climb to the top of the Western Conference, they should consider making a move. They cannot afford another early elimination like during the restart.
