Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Washington Wizards

Trading away Bradley Beal is definitely not what this organization has in mind, but if they do not turn around their losing ways early on this season quickly, they could very well trade him near the NBA trade deadline or even sooner!

Getting two high-level and young talents in Kendrick Nunn and Duncan Robinson could prove to be very useful, especially with Russell Westbrook leading this team. Westbrook is oftentimes called a selfish player and very ball-dominant guard, but he is a very talented passer and is always looking to get the ball out to reliable shooters.

With Nunn and Robinson both being proven young scorers, the Wizards would not just have two role players they can rely on immediately, but build with in addition to their 9th overall pick, Deni Avdija. Washington has some viable young talent that has a lot of potential moving forward and adding two more guys to their young core could help make any rebuild process for this team very smooth.

The best part about this trade for Washington though are the two first-round picks they would be receiving. Trading Beal is definitely not ideal, but in the event that this organization does so, it gives them plenty of options on how they want to build this team moving forward.

Instead of being stuck with big contracts and no cap space, the Wizards would have money to spend in free agency and a lot of players still on rookie contracts. Not to mention, they would have their choice of  building this team through the draft or executing another blockbuster trade to land one or two more All-Star level talents to pair up with Westbrook.

There are more positives that come out of a trade involving Bradley Beal than negatives and while the original goal was to keep Westbrook and Beal together long-term, this trade sets Washington up for more future success, which is why it makes sense for them. Washington’s best chance to build this team into a true contender in the Eastern Conference is to continue gathering young talent with loads of potential.
