Why The Trade Would Benefit The Washington Wizards
The Washington Wizards are in a position to build around Russell Westbrook if they send Bradley Beal away in a trade. They are two players who dominate the ball and can lead an offense. This trade helps Washington add pieces around Westbrook.
Tobias Harris is a player with one of the worst contracts in the NBA. The 76ers have shown interest dumping contracts when they sent Al Horford to Oklahoma City. This is another chance for them to do just that while giving Westbrook a big-name player in return.
The Wizards would also get a ton of NBA Draft capital in this trade. They could use this in another deal for a star or make the picks to add prospects. Matisse Thybulle is another depth piece that would help the team in their rebuild.
Both John Wall and Beal expressed interest in wanting out of Washington. With Wall gone, it would be interesting to see if the Wizards completely clean house or keep Beal in the backcourt with Westbrook.
