Why This Trade Would Benefit The Detroit Pistons
The Detroit Pistons have a few years before they can think about seriously contending. Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose are more equipped to contribute to teams ready to win now and that is not the Pistons. The benefit would be sending them away for a return that fits them more.
It begins with Kendrick Nunn and a first-round pick. Nunn burst onto the scene as one of the top rookies in the league prior to the shutdown. He was a productive player on both ends for Miami. He would join Killian Hayes in what Detroit is hoping is the future backcourt.
Andre Igoudala and Kelly Olynyk are veterans in their own right but have short-term contracts. This would be an extremely low-risk move for the Pistons.
Detroit was busy during the offseason adding some pieces to help for the future. They could speed up their process if they were to send away their veterans in a trade.
