This out-of-the-box trade sends Stephen Curry to the Pelicans

Why The Trade Would Benefit The Warriors

On the side of Golden State, this deal is a little harder to explain. They have had plenty of success with Stephen Curry at the helm and it is hard to fathom them trading him.

On the other hand, if there is a time to trade him it might be right now.

It is not every day that a team is offered five first-round picks in a trade. That would be the biggest reason to make this deal. This would be another season punted away by the Warriors in hopes of building around Klay Thompson and Draymond Green in the upcoming years.

They would be able to do that with their draft picks and with the acquisition of a player like Lonzo Ball. When looking at the lineup that the Warriors ran out against the Nets, they could use some help.

Again, this is not some thing that we see happening anytime soon. It is just one of the most fun deals we have been able to cook up during the offseason. Open your mind and think about the possibilities of a trade like this actually happening in the NBA.
