Who Will James Harden Be Traded To?

James Harden is going to be traded, it is just a matter of time until the news breaks and until we know where he will be going. At this point, it seems likely that the 76ers, Nets, Heat, Raptors and Nuggets are the only 5 teams who are in the Harden sweepstakes.

With the Nets not wanting to give up the giant trade package the Rockets are asking for in exchange for Harden, he could wind up being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. Numerous reports have surfaced that while they are not close to a deal, the 76ers would be willing to trade Ben Simmons in a trade that would bring James Harden to Philadelphia.

While Ben Simmons is a two-time All-Star and All-NBA player in just four seasons in the NBA, he cannot score outside of the paint and has one of the worst jump shots in the entire league. What it comes down to for the Philadelphia 76ers is whether or not Harden gives them a better chance to win a title than Simmons does and the answer is pretty clear here.

Bringing in James Harden gives the Philadelphia 76ers a much better chance to win a title than Ben Simmons does, which is why this should be an easy decision to make for Philly. James Harden is arguably the best scoring guard in the league and Joel Embiid may be the best scoring center in the league. Pairing these two up with each other is a formula for success, especially in the Eastern Conference.

A blockbuster trade including James Harden could come at any time during the 2019-20 season and will likely be at least a three-team trade to make the finances work. At this point, it seems like the Philadelphia 76ers are the team that will be getting James Harden, leaving the Rockets with a lot of questions about the future of the organization.
