Tyler Herro Could Come Close To Scoring Over 1000 points
Last season, only three players on the Miami Heat scored 1000+ points during the regular season: Jimmy Butler (1157), Bam Adebayo (1146) and Kendrick Nunn (1024). In 55 games last season, Herro scored 743 total points, ranking him 6th on the team.
This season, if he plays in every single regular season game, Tyler Herro could come close to scoring over 1000 points for the Heat. Last season, Herro made 116 out of 298 three-point attempts (38.9%) and he is expected to not only take more threes this season, but make more of them as well.
For comparison purposes, Herro’s counterpart, Duncan Robinson, took 606 three-pointers last season, which make up for 88.2% of his total shots. Tyler Herro’s 298 three-point attempts made up about 47% of his total shot attempts on the season.
Duncan Robinson ended up with 983 total points for the season last year. If Herro took over 400 three-point attempts and continued to be an aggressive scorer who could also score driving to the rim and at the free-throw line, he should have no problem reaching the 1,000 points mark.
However, there are 72 games during the regular season this year, which could shake things up slightly. Overall though, there are still enough games for Herro to reach this milestone early in his career and given the increase in minutes he will likely see, Tyler Herro is on track to become one of the Miami Heat’s best scoring options.
