Target #3: Alec Burks – New York Knicks

When looking at the Bucks roster, it is clear to see that they have an abundance of shooters in the back-court, but behind Khris Middleton, there are a lot of question marks. Thanasis Antetokounmpo seems to only be on the team because of his brother, as the Bucks have hardly used him, and Torrey Craig’s role with the Bucks is unknown. 

In his three years in the league, Craig has not been much of an offensive player, as he focused more on the defensive end of the court, which is why going out and trading for a guy like Alec Burks would vastly improve this Milwaukee offense. Having a reliable, proven scorer come off the bench behind your All-Star is huge in the NBA and this is exactly what Burks is. 

Last season, Burks played for both the Warriors and the 76ers and he averaged 15.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, shot 41.8% from the floor, and 38.5% from three-point range. This offseason, the Knicks signed Burks to a one-year, $6 million deal, but would definitely listen to offers for him around the trade deadline if they feel they can get something of value for him. 

Much like Richaun Holmes, Burks has a small salary to take on and his asking price is not over-the-top, as the Bucks would likely have to trade a guy like Donte DiVincenzo or D.J. Wilson and a second-round pick. Going out and getting reliable shooters and scorer to put around Giannis Antetokounmpo was the goal for the Bucks this offseason and if they truly want to make the most of their championship opportunity, acquiring a player like Burks would make a lot of sense.

His ability to play either shooting guard or small forward and be a reliable scorer makes him extremely valuable for any championship contending team and with the struggles the Bucks have had with depth at the small forward position over the years, there are no negatives to bringing in a guy like Burks.

With a low cost and a small contract, Burks is exactly the type of player Milwaukee needs to solidify their roster as a championship caliber team.
