Why the Trade Benefits the Washington Wizards
The Washington Wizards already made one big move by sending John Wall to the Houston Rockets. The idea of pairing Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook might intrigue the franchise, but heading in a different direction means cleaning house from previous years. This means Beal could be on the way out.
Miami is full of young players they could potentially send to Washington. Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn would be at the top of that list. Nunn had a breakout season as one of the best rookies in the NBA early on and Herro proved to be a big game performer during the postseason.
Something to take into consideration, the Wizards would also benefit from experience and leadership come postseason time from players like Andre Igoudala and Kelly Olynyk.
The Wizards have a chance to compete for the seventh or eighth seed in the upcoming season with Beal on the roster. If this is good enough, then they should accept it. If they want to build for the future, this is a trade they can make.
