Deni Avdija Finishes Top-Two In Rookie Of The Year Voting
Deni Avdija is just so well-polished for a 19-year old prospect and while he is a completely different player than Luka Doncic, the two share a lot of the same similarities in terms of when they started playing professional basketball. Avdija began playing professional basketball at 16-years old for Maccabi Tel Aviv, one of the better international basketball clubs, and enters the NBA with plenty of professional playing experience.
What makes Deni Avdija such a terrific NBA prospect is his ability to be a playmaker in any position on the court. Whether it is being the primary ball-handler in pick-and-roll situations or playing off-the-ball and cutting to the rim for open layups, Avdija seems to be extremely relaxed on the basketball court and always has a plan of where to go with the ball.
Not only can Avdija be a franchise-changing player for the Washington Wizards but could immediately come in and play like a veteran next to Westbrook and Beal, giving the Wizards a legit shot to make some noise in the Eastern Conference.
At the small forward position, Deni Avdija will join the Wizards and immediately be in the starting rotation, seeing anywhere from 20 minutes to 30 minutes on the court a night. His ability to be a playmaker anywhere on the court set Avdija apart from not just other players on Washington’s roster, but other rookies around the league.
By the end of the season, Deni Avdija could wind up leading all rookies in scoring for the 2020-21 NBA season, which is why he will be in the running all season long to be the 2020-21 NBA Rookie of the Year. Do not be shocked if he winds up winning the award and is a prime reason why the Wizards find a lot of success this season.
