Norman Powell Wins Sixth-Man of the Year Award
Norman Powell is the guy not talked about enough on the Raptors and could have a huge role for the Raptors this upcoming season. In the NBA Bubble, Norman Powell played some of his best basketball of his career, averaging 13.6 points per game in the Raptors 8 seeding games and 13.4 points per game in the playoffs.
Entering his 6th season with the Toronto Raptors, Norman Powell was one of the most improved players in the entire NBA last season, but still is not receiving any credit. With Ibaka and Gasol gone, there is production and scoring up for grabs this year, which is why Powell is a sneaky player to pick to win the Sixth-Man of the Year Award.
He will be the first guy off of the bench for the Raptors this season and has been one of the best three-point shooters off the bench in the entire NBA over the last two seasons. He has taken 443 three-point shot attempts over the last two years, making about 40% of his shots from deep.
Not only is Norman Powell a player that has to be respected by opposing defenders on the perimeter, but he is also more than capable of getting to the rim. He is an extremely gifted athlete who can play well above the rim and if given a lane, will have no problem putting his opponents on a poster.
The 2020-21 NBA season will be Norman Powell’s breakout season and he will not only elevate the Toronto Raptors’ offense as a whole, but he will finally get the credit he deserves this season when he wins the NBA Sixth-Man of the Year award.
