Boston Celtics Receive: Lauri Markkanen

Chicago Bulls Receive: Romeo Langford, Grant Williams, Aaron Nesmith, 2021 1st Round Pick

Granted, this trade may never happen due to the way that Danny Ainge likes to negotiate in trade talks. Even fans in Boston have become frustrated at times with how stubborn he can be. However, if it did happen, both teams would be getting the kind of return they need.

For the Celtics, Markkanen would bring more potential to the front-court. He has a great shot, but needs to work on his consistency from three-point range. Markkanen can also put the ball on the floor very well for a big man.

Standing in at 7-foot-0, Markkanen is not a great shot-blocker, but he would be an upgrade at power forward or center for Boston.

As for the Bulls, it would be a tough decision to move on from one of their young talents. But, this trade would bring in a valuable first-round pick, a rookie shooting forward in Aaron Nesmith, and two other young pieces in Williams and Langford. This could help them re-tool their roster a bit.

Let’s take a closer look at this trade for both the Bulls and Celtics and why this deal would be worth pulling the trigger on.
