Trail Blazers Finish As One Of NBA’s Best Offensive Teams Again

Through the years, the number one thing that has propelled the Portland Trail Blazers is how efficient they are on the offensive end of the court. The last two years, the Blazers have ranked inside the Top 10 in points per game and have finished in the Top 10 in three-point percentage 6 of the last 7 seasons.

Their offensive game revolves around the three-point basket and they went out and improved in this area even more this offseason. Robert Covington has shot 35.6% from three-point range over the course of his 7-year NBA career and both Carmelo Anthony and Rodney Hood shot the three-ball at a high percentage last season. Before injuring his Achilles and missing the remainder of the season, Hood was shooting 49.3% from three-point range and was having the best season of his young career.

With plenty of offensive weapons on the wing and Damian Lillard playing at the highest-level of his career, there is no telling how good of an offensive team the Portland Trail Blazers will be this season. They will definitely be a Top 10 scoring team once again and could even be a better three-point shooting team than they were last season when they ranked 3rd shooting 37.7% from deep.

While this team will have a lot of success from deep this season, they will also find a lot of scoring success in their front court. Jusef Nurkic is finally healthy and both Enes Kanter and Zach Collins are both guys who could potentially average double-digit scoring. When he was with Portland during the 2018-19 season, Enes Kanter averaged 13.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and shot 57.7% from the field, so expect to see him be in the same role he was a couple of years back.

The Portland Trail Blazers offense revolves around the playmaking abilities of both Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum and with plenty of other weapons surrounding them, the Blazers will be a great offensive team and a unit that will be extremely hard to guard.
