Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Wizards

Let’s face the reality that the Wizards are going to end up having to trade Bradley Beal. They have been holding on to the hope that they could put together a winner around him. Russell Westbrook was acquired this offseason, but the likelihood of him and Beal taking Washington deep into the playoffs is very small.

Assuming the Wizards do end up trading Beal at some point in the future, this trade package would be a perfect return.

Buddy Hield has become an elite sharpshooter and is also 27 years old. Last season with the Kings, he averaged 19.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. He also shot 42.9 percent from the floor and 39.4 percent from the three-point line.

The other piece in this deal is Marvin Bagley III, who would be a nice addition in the front-court. He is just 21 years old and is coming off of a season that saw him average 14.2 points and 7.5 rebounds. Bagley could end up becoming a very valuable starter for the Wizards.

Finally, the first-round pick in 2021 is a must. The Wizards need to get a quality pick for Beal. Even though the Kings would improve quite a bit with this trade, the pick could still be a very valuable asset for Washington.

While trading Beal is not an ideal situation, the Wizards should strongly consider this trade package if it becomes available.
