Miami Heat Fails To Make It Back To NBA Finals

They are going to give it everything they got, but ultimately, the Miami Heat will not make the NBA Finals. The Brooklyn Nets and the Milwaukee Bucks seem like the two teams who are on a collision course to play each other in the Eastern Conference Finals and while the Miami Heat could very well reach the ECF, there is just no team in the East who could beat Brooklyn in a seven-game series at this time.

Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo will likely both be All-Stars again this year, assuming that they continue to play at a high-level and Miami will be one of the league’s better offensive teams. They will definitely be one of the teams to beat in the Eastern Conference, but the question that remains for them is can they be a better defensive team than they were a season ago.

The Miami Heat ranked in the top 10 in allowing the least amount of points per game to their opponents and were one of the best perimeter defending teams, allowing opponents to shoot just 34.7% from beyond-the-arc. They will need to finish top-five in both of these categories this year if they are going to have a chance to defend their title as reigning Eastern Conference champions

At the end of the day though, the Brooklyn Nets have way too many weapons on their roster and as a result, they are one of the favorites to make it to the NBA Finals out of the Eastern Conference. It would be great to see the Miami Heat face off against the Nets in the ECF this year and we may very much see this matchup come playoff time in the NBA.
