Miami Heat Finish Top Four In Eastern Conference
In on of the craziest NBA seasons ever, the Miami Heat became the first 5-seed in the history of the NBA to ever make it to the NBA Finals and while they came up short of their goal of winning it all, the Heat enters the 2020-21 NBA season as one of the favorites to win the Eastern Conference again and will definitely be a top-four team in the East throughout the 72-game season.
The emergence of Bam Adebayo as an All-Star last year does a lot for this team in terms of their mental toughness and their pure skill on the basketball court. Adebayo had a breakout third season in the NBA and was a guy who a lot of teams slept on over the years and did not pay much attention to. His work ethic and character is something that has spread through this locker room and as a result, other guys on this Heat roster could easily take the next step in their careers this year and wind up being named first-time All-Stars.
What made last year’s Miami Heat team so likeable and easy to root for was the fact that they had no sense of selfishness and all were playing for each other instead of themselves. Pretty much every person on this team, including the head coach, had a chip-on-their-shoulder and had been criticized over the years.
Their ability to come together and make the NBA Finals was one of the greatest postseason runs in the history of the NBA, even though they did not win the title. This season, their mindset will be no different as they will continue to play as a team and as a result, will finish as one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference.
The Heat has not finished as a top-four team in the Eastern Conference since the 2015-16 season, but they will do so this upcoming season.
