Why the Trade Benefits the Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockers have a new-look front office and a new head coach in Stephen Silas. Both James Harden and Russell Westbrook were unhappy with the current situation in Houston and this led to trade requests. Westbrook was sent to Washington and Harden could be on his way out next.
Harden has been linked to both the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers. If the Rockets decide to work with Milwaukee, they could get a nice return of draft capital and rotation ready players. It would be centered around Middleton as the biggest return.
Middleton is a former All-Star who could fit in a key role alongside John Wall with the Rockets. Houston would also have a chance to compete and lengthen their lineup with bench players such as Donte DiVincenzo and DJ Wilson as well.
It never seems good when a team trades two superstars but in the Rockets case, it might have to be done. The experiment with Harden and Westbrook did not work. Harden has had his chance to win in Houston and has not. Sometimes a franchise just needs to start over.
