2. Low Risk, High Reward

The reason that the Pacers could be looking to trade Victor Oladipo is because he is on an expiring contract. They already gave him one big money deal and may not want to do it again, especially with his recent injury situation. 

For the Lakers, this is not something they should worry about. Indiana is in a position to lose Oladipo for nothing next offseason if they do not trade him away. The Lakers would be getting his services for one season, so even if he hurts himself again or is not effective, they could just let him go next year.

This is a low-risk move, but the reward could be huge given what kind of player Oladipo can be.

It is clear that Los Angeles is interested in improving their team and they have already made great strides. This move would solidify their offseason and raise expectations even higher heading into the opener.
