This Pistons-Thunder trade sends Blake Griffin to OKC

This trade involves two teams in very interesting positions. The Oklahoma City Thunder are coming off of a postseason berth in the bubble while Blake Griffin and the Detroit Pistons are looking to rebuild for the future. This trade would go a long way for both teams in helping their process.

Despite qualifying for the playoffs, Oklahoma City knew that it would be just for one year. They were able to ride an All-Star season from Chris Paul, but sent him to the Phoenix Suns in a trade at the beginning of the offseason.

The Thunder overachieved last year, but have plenty of draft capital built up for the future. Sam Presti has a plan and is close to putting it in action.

As for the Pistons, they are attempting to rebuild quickly. They were busy at the beginning of free agency, adding many players in the front-court. That makes you think that they are entertaining the idea of trading Griffin.

Detroit used the seventh overall pick on point guard Killian Hayes, who is expected to earn a starting job right away. For the Pistons, they are looking to add more depth to the rotation.

With the regular season right around the corner, teams are beginning to look at some last minute deals. Here is one that could take place between the Pistons and Thunder that would send Blake Griffin to Oklahoma City.
