Why the Trade Benefits the Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards shored up their three-point threats when they re-signed Davis Bertans in free agency. The addition of JJ Redick would give Washington another elite shooter in the NBA, along with many other assets in return for Bradley Beal.

Both Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart were sent to New Orleans in the Anthony Davis trade. This would be the second time in their careers that they are used as trade assets for a superstar. This time around, they are more experienced and would help Russell Westbrook for the Wizards.

Washington would also acquire three first-round picks in this deal. The Wizards need to build up as much draft capital as possible in hopes of turning their luck around.

Washington could opt to keep Beal to pair with Westbrook in hopes of competing sooner than expected. If they were to trade him, this would be the type of return they would get.
