Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Bulls

Both Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen are key players for the Bulls. They are the future of the franchise. If they are going to trade both of them, they will be looking to get a franchise superstar back in return.

Ben Simmons would be exactly that for the Bulls. He would give them a true point guard who can get to the rim and create for teammates. Reports have stated that he is working to improve his shooting, which will be necessary for him to take the next step offensively.

Chicago has not been viewed as a playoff contender for a few years. Billy Donovan was hired to be the new head coach and giving him a weapon like Simmons would be ideal. He could build the offense around Simmons.

Last season with the 76ers, Simmons put in work and had another big year. He averaged 16.4 points, 8.0 assists, and 7.8 rebounds per game. Simmons shot 58 percent from the floor, although that percentage is mostly due to his ability to get to the rim.

As the No. 1 option for the Bulls, it would not be shocking to see Simmons average a triple-double. He is capable of averaging 20 points, 10-11 assists, and 10 rebounds per game. Those numbers would make this trade more than worth it.

Add in the fact that the Bulls could possibly recruit other players to join Simmons and it makes even more sense. Chicago should not even hesitate on this trade if it happens to be on the table.
