Will Giannis Antetokounmpo Stay Or Will He Go?

This is the million-dollar question that if you have the answer to, you probably have some kind of sports almanac like the one from the ‘Back to the Future’ movie franchise. Nobody knows what Giannis Antetokounpmo plans on doing and while many believe he will decide to sign a super-max extension with the Milwaukee Bucks, it is all just a matter of opinion and belief.

The Milwaukee Bucks tried to do everything they could this offseason to bring in as much talent as they could to surround Antetokounmpo with offensive weapons to make this team a true championship contender, but things did not plan out the way they had hoped. They did make the move to trade for former All-Star and two-way player Jrue Holiday, but they had a trade for the sharp-shooting Bogdan Bogdanovic that fell through.

Giannis Antetokounmpo asked the Bucks for players that could help them contend for championship and they went out and brought in Jrue Holiday, D.J. Augustin and Bobby Portis at the expense of losing Eric Bledsoe, Wesley Matthews and George Hill. You can be the judge of this one if they actually improved or not.

Whatever the case may be for the Bucks this upcoming season, the contract situation of Giannis Antetokounmpo is not only the number one thing on their minds, but the entire NBA world and all 29 other organizations who would do anything to have a chance to sign Antetokounmpo. If the Milwaukee Bucks let Giannis leave and sign with a different team, it will cripple this organization for decades to come and will completely flip the league upside-down depending on where he decides to sign.

The deadline for Giannis Antetokounmpo to agree to a super-max contract extension is December 21 and if he opts not to sign this contract extension, he will enter the offseason as an unrestricted free agent, allowing any team in the league to make a run for him.

Antetokounmpo could even opt to sign the contract extension with the thought of being traded this offseason, so who knows what he plans on doing. The only goal in his mind at the moment is doing everything he can to win a championship and if the Bucks fail to do so again this season, it could lead to the “Greek Freak” taking his talents somewhere else.

The Giannis Antetokounmpo-Milwaukee Bucks storyline is arguably the biggest storyline in all of professional sports right now and will be closely monitored not just up to Dec. 21, but throughout the entire season as well.
