This Warriors-Pistons trade would pair Derrick Rose, Stephen Curry

The Hypothetical Trade

Warriors Receive: Derrick Rose

Pistons Receive: Kevon Looney, Jordan Poole, 2022 First-Round Pick (Top-Five Protected)

If the Warriors do come in with this trade offer, it would be very difficult to see the Pistons saying no. They would be getting another first-round asset, which will be important as they look to rebuild. Rose simply doesn’t fit the long-term picture of this team.

Kevon Looney and Jordan Poole are also quality young role players. Neither one of them will be a big-time starter, but they can be used in Detroit.

For the Warriors, neither Looney or Poole can make the kind of impact that Rose would alongside Stephen Curry. They could also look to re-sign Rose to have him as a Sixth Man even when Thompson returns. That kind of punch off of the bench would be valuable for them to have.

We’re going to look closer at this trade for both the Warriors and Pistons and why both teams should strongly consider pursuing this trade.
