Grading the Trade for the Washington Wizards

The clear winner of this trade is the Washington Wizards. In order to land a dynamic talent in Russell Westbrook who is coming off an All-NBA Second-Team appearance, all they had to give up was a player who hasn’t appeared in a few years along with a protected future 1st round pick.

There is already extensive history between Wizards head coach Scott Brooke and Westbrook from their mutual time with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Already having that kind of connection is helpful for a team needing to fit Westbrook into the mix.

This trade shows Bradley Beal he is the clear-cut franchise-player in Washington and how the Wizards organization is willing to do what it takes to add talent around him. This deal checks many needed boxes.
