The NBA’s training camps are set to begin and Russell Westbrook and John Wall no find themselves members of a new team. This came after the Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards agreed to a blockbuster trade.
It has been a rough last few years for Wall and for the Wizards, as a result. With so much salary cap spending dedicated to a player who has been completely sidelined, it’s just too difficult to field all that successful of a roster overall.
The Rockets had a different problem with Harden and Westbrook. Both players simply did not mesh all that well together in the NBA playoffs— resulting in the best outcome being to split up the two All-Stars.
There wasn’t much of a market for either Wall or Westbrook around the NBA. As a result, it seemed almost inevitable that both the Rockets and Wizards would eventually get a deal done centered around the two dynamic guards— especially with both players wanting out.
