Brooklyn Nets

Even without James Harden, the Brooklyn Nets are set up to be one of the best teams in the entire league this upcoming season, but with him, could be one of the best franchises moving forward. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are set to return from injuries this upcoming season and will obviously be the two leaders of the Nets.

With other core pieces such as: Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert, Joe Harris and Landry Shamet, the Nets not only have the star power to contend for a championship, but have the supporting cast to back them as well. Ripping apart this roster in order to acquire James Harden sounds dumb, but it would make the Nets unstoppable.

James Harden and Kevin Durant, when fully healthy, are the two most lethal scorers in the NBA and reuniting them with one another makes the Nets unguardable. Not to mention, they have one of the clutchest guards in the NBA in Kyrie Irving as well. This three-headed monster the Nets could assemble would be a nightmare for teams to try and guard and would make Brooklyn a championship contender until the day all of these guys retire.

The Nets are also a team that James Harden reportedly has interest in. This offseason plenty of Houston Rockets trade rumors surfaced, one of them being reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, stating that James Harden turned down a $50M/year contract extension, and the main reasons for this was said to be that he wanted to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets.

While Kevin Durant shot down these rumors saying that he and James Harden never spoke about this, it seems highly realistic that Harden would want to go to the Nets. Not only does he get to play with two of his friends in Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, but he joins an immediate championship contender instead of staying with the Rockets as part of their rebuild.

If there is one team that could make a trade for James Harden work financially, it is the Brooklyn Nets and with all of the assets they have on their roster, they could pull off one of the greatest trades in the history of the NBA.
