Why the Trade Benefits the Washington Wizards
The Washington Wizards have been mediocre over the past few years. The duo of Bradley Beal and John Wall has not worked out the way the team was hoping. There have been rumors of Beal being on the move in recent years, but it could be Wall who finds himself on a new team.
Rose is an intriguing piece in this deal because of the way he has rejuvenated his career in Detroit. He is looking like a player who can still score of the ball with great regularity. Nonetheless, Griffin is the attractive piece in this deal.
Washington has been in need of help in the frontcourt. When healthy, Griffin is extremely effective at all three levels. He would complement Davis Bertans well because of their ability to stretch the floor and play near the three-point line.
This is a trade involving two teams looking to improve their lineups in hopes of contending for the postseason. It is time for the Wizards to completely build around Beal and send Wall away for a nice return.
