Why the Trade Benefits the San Antonio Spurs

Watching the postseason from home is something that Greg Popovich and the San Antonio Spurs are not used to. It is definitely something that will not sit well with the franchise which means some big moves could be on the horizon.

San Antonio has been rumored to be interested in dealing veteran players such as DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge. This would clear up cap space and send the team in a much younger direction.

If they decide to keep DeRozan and Aldridge, they could throw Collins into the mix in hopes of making the postseason. Regardless, Murray and Collins would be the future. Also, they would be not be given up much outside of draft capital.

The Spurs have been the best franchise in the league for the past two decades. Now that it has changed, they will have to make some moves to get back to the top of the league.
