Why the Trade Benefits the Orlando Magic
The Orlando Magic have found their way into the playoffs in each of the last two seasons. They have been a low seed with no chance of advancing in the postseason. Orlando finished as the eighth-seed in the bubble and they lost in five to the Milwaukee Bucks. They are in an interesting position because they could either choose to completely rebuild or make a move to contend.
This is a trade to attempt to contend. The Magic would be getting back Westbrook and Harris in this deal. They would be forced to give up some assets but they still have star-caliber players.
Russell Westbrook and Tobias Harris would team up with Nikola Vucevic and Terrance Ross. This creates a lineup that could climb up the standings in the Eastern Conference.
Orlando has shown that they are capable of making the postseason but in the NBA, over half of the teams in the league qualify. It is about adding elite players and getting to that next level. This is a trade that would help the Magic immediately.
