Why the Trade Benefits the Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers have two of the worst contracts in the NBA on their roster. Tobias Harris is one and Al Horford is the other. If they are able to trade either one, that is a huge win.

If the 76ers are able to bring back a fan favorite who was very good during his time, that’s an even bigger win. JJ Redick was a massive reason why Philadelphia experienced success over the last couple of years. They let him walk in free agency and their production from the three-point line went way down.

A reunion in Philadelphia is something that both sides would be up for. Also, the 76ers would be able to hold onto both Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid in this deal.

The 76ers need to do something. They are a consistent playoff team but no one ever thought they could win a championship. Especially since they let Jimmy Butler go. If they bring back Redick and unload Horford, that is a big step in the right direction.
