Why the Trade Benefits the Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks are looking to rebuild quickly. They have a strong core with Trae Young and John Collins along with other young players like De’Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish.

In this trade, the Hawks will have a variety of options in the 2020 NBA Draft with the No. 6 selection. If used in a trade, Atlanta could pursue a trade up to get near the top-three, or use it to land a star like Jrue Holiday that can step in and help take the team to the next level.

The Hawks would have a dynamic backcourt with this duo along with Clint Capela coming off an injury. If Atlanta wants to compete for an NBA playoff spot in the immediate future, this is a deal that would help.

Holiday would come and take over the leadership role in a locker room full of young players. He would be able to complement Young nicely on the perimeter while teaching him at the same time.
