Why the Trade Benefits the Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are looking to win-now and have NBA championship aspirations and are no strangers to big deals. Zach LaVine would be an incredible get for Boston to team with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

The Celtics currently have three picks in the 1st round. They can use these to either trade up or pull off a blockbuster like this. LaVine has turned into an elite scorer but also knows how to act as a second or third option within an offense.

Wendell Carter Jr. would be an upgrade down low and Thaddeus Young is a veteran presence. This deal allows the Celtics to get rid of Gordon Hayward’s contract while keeping their core players.

If draft picks are what Boston is giving up, they will live with that. The idea of having Tatum, Brown, LaVine, and Kamba Walker should excite Boston fans about the upcoming NBA season.
