Why the Trade Benefits the Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns came as close as possible to pulling off a successful run for the 8th seed during their time in the NBA bubble. While they came up short despite posting an 8-0 record, there is real reason to believe in. the team’s potential to emerge as a playoff contender.
By trading for Chris Paul, the Suns would worsen the Thunder while lifting themselves up— making it easier to take one of the eight spots in the Western Conference playoff picture.
A backcourt consisting of Paul and Devin Booker would be quite a fascinating possibility. Paul would be able to orchestrate the half-court offense and provide a major impact in facilitation, on-ball defense, shot creation, and leadership.
Having Paul in the mix would enable Booker to focus on scoring and be placed in advantageous positions to get the ball. There would be a real advantage for the Suns to pick on favorable matchups based on the personnel of the opposition, too.
