Myles Turner
If the Houston Rockets don’t acquire Domantas Sabonis from the Indiana Pacers this NBA season, perhaps his teammate, Myles Turner, could be a target.
The Pacers will be a team to watch this offseason, as there seems to be a chance that they make a move to resolve the glut in their frontcourt. Turner, like Sabonis, would be a big upgrade for the Rockets after the small ball era has come to a close.
Turner hasn’t quite become the franchise cornerstone that Pacers fans hoped he’d be, but he would be a notable acquisition regardless. In Turner, the Rockets would get an influx of rim protection and he wouldn’t be asked to be even a top-two option offensively.
Turner, 24, is under contract through 2022-23 for a favorable $17.5 million per season. It wouldn’t require the Rockets to deplete their supporting cast around James Harden and Russell Westbrook to accommodate a talent on a major deal.
