Atlanta Hawks

Center is not the biggest need for Atlanta. The Hawks could use depth in the backcourt beyond Trae Young, and Atlanta will have options. The Hawks make this list because, at No. 6 overall in the NBA Draft, James Wiseman would be a value pick.

If he somehow made it past Charlotte, Chicago and Cleveland (and that’s already assuming Minnesota and Golden State pass at No. 1 and No. 2) Atlanta could pounce.

It’s likely not in their plans to pair Wiseman with Young since he’s probably gone by No. 6.  But in the event that Wiseman falls on draft night, this could be where the hypothetical slide would stop.

Atlanta is trying to reach the next level as a franchise. The have their star to build around in Young. They have Travis Schlenk calling the shots, who gained valuable experience with the Warriors before taking over in Atlanta. If they somehow had the chance to take Wiseman at six, Atlanta shouldn’t think twice about it.
