1. Golden State Warriors
This is a perfect fit from a team standpoint, but it is not from a draft slot standpoint. The Warriors had their down year after five straight championship appearances and three titles. They were derailed by injuries and this landed them the No. 2 overall pick in the NBA Draft.
Haliburton is a guard who could fit in nicely in a backup role behind one of the best back-courts of all-time. The Warriors are very high on Haliburton and that was clear when the owner, general manager, and assistant general manager scouted him live at a game last season.
Golden State landing at No. 2 in the draft order might cause some moves to be made. Haliburton is a nice fit, but he is not worth the second-overall pick.
Golden State has talked about moving down in the draft to gain other assets. There are teams out there that would be interested in moving up to that slot to land a franchise player. The Warriors already have that and more.
They could move down in the top 10 and still be able to land Tyrese Haliburton.
